Health science librarian
Duties and responsibilities: Medical librarians are
information specialists who provide assistance in finding medical documents.
Medical librarians are specialized in using databases and reference materials
to conduct research for medical information. They can work in medical school libraries,
corporations, non-profit organization or government agencies. Medical
librarians commonly have training in the sciences, health or medicine. They
might also be trained in the information sciences to acquire the skills needed
to maintain databases.
Salary: $50,334-$85,933
Education: must complete a 4 year baccalaureate
program in any discipline they choose. The most common majors for health
science librarians include biology, library sciences, management, or health
information. Encouraged to include as many computer and technology courses in
their undergraduate work as possible. Required to have a master’s degree.
I wouldn’t like to be a health science
librarian because I am not interested in it.
