   What the quote means is that Dean Smith didnt wanted to be famous but he wanted to do what was right not wrong. A example of this is that when you do something right for others, others will remember you not by being famous but by what you did right. Also if you did what was right many people will know your name just like Dean Smith everyone loved him by being a good coach not a winner. Dean Smith didnt wanted to leave something important but by being a good person he did what was right. If you want to be a good person be like Dean Smith dont choose the wrong because if you do you will be lead to the wrong way to success. Dean Smith only wanted the best for his players and his courage lead him to doing right he didnt care if people hated him. If you want to succed in life do whats right.  Dont let people drag you down like Dean Smith he followed to be successful.
