What the quote means is that if you think of good goals for example being a good person then you know what you have to do to complete that goal because if you make a wrong choice it won’t take you anywhere only taking you to the negative side but if you set good goals and you accomplished them you can be a good person because if you do the right thing you are mostly able to succeed. If you have correct goals then you are mostly able to succeed and later you will noticed that it falls into the line because you did the right thing and you know that you will succeed because you know what to do because you know what goals to set to make you a successful person.
