 What the quote means is that doing the right thing is when you have self-respect, Dignity, integrity, and self-esteem to do what you are doing and do the right thing. An example of this quote is when someone lost their bag and you find it and you think should you keep it or return it and you decided to return it that means you are not ashamed of what you're doing. Doing good things makes you feel a better person and you feel right because you did something good. An if you do the right thing which was to return the bag you get rewarded because the person you gave it to will be thankful and reward you with something like money. Not only you chose the right but you also got rewarded and people will know what you did and you will be proud of yourself and if you didn't return it later people won't trust you and you will regret what you did.
